Why connect?
Are you a researcher who wants to influence decision-making outside the walls of the university?
Are you a practitioner looking to use research to advance your organizational goals and better serve your community?
Are you a policymaker committed to making policy decisions using the best available evidence?
You’re in the right place.
Research4impact’s matchmaking team has initiated over 350 new collaborative relationships between social scientists and nonprofit practitioners, and between social scientists and local policymakers, across the globe.
Interested in informal collaboration?
Many new cross-sector collaborative relationships are for informal knowledge exchange—the primary goal is to gain a new and expanded understanding of the problems you care about, along with actionable insights that are useful for advancing your work. Here’s an example of the impact informal collaborations can have.
Interested in formal collaboration?
Sometimes informal collaboration leads to formal collaboration, in which collaborators co-create new projects/initiatives that entail shared ownership, decision-making authority, and accountability. We’re happy to provide resources on the process for conducting various types of formal collaborations (e.g., designing research projects, forming a task force, organizing an event).
